Hello. My name is Derek Ian Clark, and welcome to my blog page. I’ve been on quite a journey from a big-Afroed kid from New Orleans to the man I am now. I’m still a work in progress, and I look forward to the adventures that are ahead. I’ve carried a passion for self-expression since childhood, particularly through singing and writing.

As a follower of Christ, my faith is essential. My commitment becomes stronger as I read and live by God‘s word, and my favorite book is Psalms. Why? The Psalms capture a broad range of human emotion: anguish, betrayal, bewilderment, doubt, hate, rage, and sadness as well as celebration, devotion, faith, happiness, joy, love, peace, and trust.

The book’s various authors probably had little idea of the impact their writings at the time would have on me and countless others. Expressing their feelings was therapy for them then. It’s become a source of strength for me now. Maya Angelou once wrote, “There is no greater agony than bearing inside you an untold story.”

Therefore, this forum will cover my walk through this thing called life from the mundane to the profound.

It’s my aim to challenge, encourage, and inspire as you read each post. I hope something here motivates you to tell your story when the opportunity arises.

Again, welcome.
