Before the world began
God, You thought of me
You made me the man I am
I’m forever in awe and wonder
‘Cause when I’d wander
Your grace sought after me
I love my percentage of melanin
I value and cherish my skin color
I’m of a rare vintage among men
I’m unique, made like none other
I thank You for my culture
The good of my nationality
I’m glad when people discover
All what makes me me
And though I’m a single soul
I realize I’m part of a whole
I know I’m not alone
In this country I call my home
Everywhere I go, I want to show
How to walk in peace and liberty
I won’t rest until everyone knows
Only You can make them free
