I believe the most important element in a song is the message it conveys. Words are powerful, and they can build or destroy. As a follower of Christ, I want to paint a complete portrait of life in my songs. It represents a vertical relationship with God and horizontal relationships with people, including romantic relationships. At its core, a song is words set to music. Therefore, I believe if something is appropriate to say as a Christian, it’s appropriate to sing as well. I choose to write and sing words of love, encouragement, and truth.
