A Light on a Winter’s Night: A Christmas Poem

In the still of a cold winter’s night
You changed darkness into light
You saw humanity’s dire plight
You came to bring the gift of life
It must’ve been a glorious sight
As a star from afar shined down
And seekers gathered around
Were they aware of Your infinite worth?
Did they know Your birth
Would bring heaven to earth?
Did they sense You’d change history?
To this day, it remains a mystery
Why You love this world so
I make it my goal to know
Although some things are still unclear
I thank You for all You sacrificed
To come here on that cold winter’s night
