Dear Chameleon: One in a Million

Dear Chameleon
I know what you’re feeling

One day you’re red
The next you’re green
You can’t stop the fears
Going ‘round in your head
Dreading you’ll never be seen

You value all opinions
You make it your mission
To prove your worth
You package an image
You convey the message
You thirst for acceptance

Tell me something
You give everything
You get back nothing
You exhaust yourself at what cost?
Perish the thought
Why would you cherish
A few moments of approval
If all what you are is lost?

Stop believing the lies
You’re more than you realize
Believe you’re a prize
You’re special in someone’s eyes

I’m talking in black and white
The fact is you have a purpose
In the circle of life
You’ve got a lot to give
Yes, there’s a reason to live

It’s obvious you’re one in a million
Love yourself, dear Chameleon
