I want to know what love is
I want you to show me
I want to feel what love is
I know you can show me
These are lyrics from a classic 80’s song by the group, Foreigner.
The question comes, however; how eager are we to know, to be shown, and to feel what love is? To experience love in its purest form is to be confronted with the darkest, most undesirable traits in someone and make a conscious decision to remain committed to him or her.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
To seek perfection is to be denied of the blessing of real love. Therefore, do we truly desire to know, to be shown, and to feel what love is? Then, may we choose this day and everyday to love the unloveable.
